Certificate in Microdermabrasion Treatment
The qualification is suitable for learners aged 18 and It is recommended that learners
must hold a Level 2 Diploma for Beauty Therapy or equivalent OR then VTCT (ITEC) Level 3
Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies.
The qualification consists of 1 mandatory unit
The main skills the learner will perform are:
Microdermabrasion treatments - to include consultation, skin analysis, recognising contraindications and contra-actions, carrying out relevant tests prior to treatment and adapting the treatment to the client’s needs.
The learner will also learn about related health and safety and client care and communication which is essential in order to work and be successful in the industry.

ONLINE THEORY
TRAINING COMPONENTS’ SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1:
Modules are divided into sections, with a quiz at the end of each section.
To recall specific facts, to define, describe and explain and show an understanding of Principles and practice of non-medical aesthetic therapies, advanced consultation for non-medical aesthetic therapies, advanced skin care for non-medical aesthetic therapies. Have a sound knowledge of consultation, skin analysis, recognising contraindications and contra-actions, carrying out relevant tests prior to treatment and adapting the treatment to the client’s needs.
Upon successful completion of the online theory section, you will be required to attend 2-days practical training sessions.
PRACTICAL ON SITE - 2 DAYS
TRAINING COMPONENTS’ SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2:
Analyze, identify, illustrate how to treat and perform
microdermabrasion treatments treatments in conjunction with the judgment of appropriate equipment and cosmetics.
CASE BASED
TRAINING COMPONENTS’ SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3:
Undertake, evaluate and record (in a portfolio or research report) the findings of, complete skin microdermabrasion treatment case studies, in which the required implements, equipment and materials are used for medical aesthetic treatments.
Entry requirement
Learners accessing this qualification will have to demonstrate competence in:
Communication skills at NQF Level 3.
Mathematical literacy skills at NQF Level 3. ​

Exit
The learner must meet the exit criteria for the knowledge based component. the practical performance as well as the case based component.
On successful completion the the student has the option to enrol for
the ITEC Certification.
