The main aim of the VTCT Skills (ITEC) Level 3 Certificate in Diet and Nutrition for Complementary Therapists is to enable learners to gain the necessary theoretical skills in order to provide healthy eating advice to the general public and to gain employment in the complementary
therapy industry.
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and over and is designed to provide occupational competence at level 2.

ONLINE THEORY
TRAINING COMPONENTS’ SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1:
Modules are divided into sections, with a quiz at the end of each section.
To recall and recognise specific facts, illustrate and explain an understanding of all nutritional principles. To include dietary requirements such as; roles of carbohydrates, protein, fibre, vitamins, nutritional value of foods, effects of antioxidant and common aliments
Then have the ability to apply the knowledge through consultation in order to recommend the nutritional principles associated with healthy eating. All nutritional principles are to be integrated with the beauty therapy units.
CASE BASED

Portfolio of evidence containing - Client consultations
Entry requirement
Learners accessing this qualification will have to demonstrate competence in:
Communication skills at NQF Level 3.
Mathematical literacy skills at NQF Level 3.

Exit
The learner must meet the exit criteria for the knowledge based component.
On On successful completion the the student has the option to enrol for the ITEC International Exams at additional cost.
